Full-stack Software Engineer

At INFO, we love solving complex problems for our clients by designing and building digital products that support their core business. For example, we improved the customer and employee experience for the Stadsbank van Lening of the City of Amsterdam. We helped Growy scale up its concept for a fully automated vertical farm. With our bike management platform, around 6 million people each year are able to rent OV-fiets for the last part of their journey. These are just a few examples of how we help our clients drive sustainable innovation.

Our team consists of about 40 people, all passionate about digital innovation. We love asking tough questions and are driven by curiosity— key ingredients for staying ahead and helping our clients do the same.

What you’ll do

As a Full-stack Software Engineer at INFO, you’ll be actively involved in creating impactful digital solutions within an agile team:

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain features across the application stack for various client projects.
  • Translate requirements and designs into high-quality, responsive user interfaces.
  • Build and optimize scalable backend services, APIs, and business logic.
  • Implement and manage effective data storage solutions, focusing on performance and integrity.
  • Integrate our applications seamlessly with necessary external services and data sources.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code, participating actively in code reviews and upholding team standards.
  • Engage fully in agile processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and documentation.
  • Collaborate effectively with designers, product owners, and fellow developers to troubleshoot issues and deliver excellent results.
  • Proactively contribute ideas for improving development practices, application architecture, and overall code quality.

What we expect from you (your background)

At INFO we value curiosity; we’re not afraid to try new things. The INFO team is a diverse group of people, each bringing their own unique perspective. The ideal person for this role brings the following to the table:

  • Proven professional experience working as a Full-stack Developer or Software Engineer, OR demonstrable ability through significant academic projects/internships for exceptional recent graduates.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript.
  • Solid frontend development skills, including significant experience with modern frameworks like React (familiarity with Next.js is a strong plus).
  • Demonstrable experience building robust backend applications, particularly with Node.js (experience with NestJS is highly desirable).
  • A good understanding of relational databases (like PostgreSQL), strong proficiency in SQL, and practical experience with ORMs are required.
  • Proficiency with version control systems, specifically Git, and collaborative platforms such as GitHub.
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach and a genuine enthusiasm for improving processes and adopting effective technologies.
  • A strong commitment to writing high-quality, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.
  • Intrinsic interest in technology, digital innovation, and tackling complex challenges.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken); Dutch proficiency is advantageous.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

Bonus points / nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure (particularly AWS), Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform/OpenTofu), and containerization (Docker).
  • Experience interacting with data platforms or data processing tools.
  • Experience with Python, especially in contexts relevant to data or backend development.
  • Knowledge of or keen interest in Machine Learning (ML) concepts or applications.
  • Experience with or interest in leveraging open-source technologies.
